Description

OG Kush makes up the genetic backbone of West Coast cannabis varieties, but in spite of its ubiquity, its genetic origins remain a mystery. Popular myth maintains that Chemdawg and Hindu Kush parented OG Kush, passing on the distinct “kush” bud structure we see in many strains today.

However, we can’t be sure because it first came from bag seed in the early 90s. The earliest propagators (now known as Imperial Genetics) are said to have brought the seeds out of Florida to Colorado and southern California, where it now flourishes. There are many different phenotypes of OG Kush, some of which include Tahoe OG, SFV OG, and Alpha OG.

Is a balanced hybrid cannabis strain with slightly more sativa characteristics. The body high has been described as inducing couch lock. THC levels are high and the cerebral euphoria makes this strain popular, contributing to the development of other numerous OG Kush strains.

OG Kush is one of the all-time favorites – a classic – amongst cannabis newbies and long time users alike. Not a lot is known about its genetics or lineage, but what is known that is has unparalleled medicinal potential and a comforting and earthy flavor profile. So if you’ve been seeking a strain that is both easy on the palate and great for treating pains of all sorts, OG Kush is definitely worth a shot.
OG Kush is a legendary strain with a name that has recognition even outside of the cannabis world. Despite its fame, though, its exact origins remain a mystery. Some claim that it’s a cross between staple Chemdawg and a hardy Hindu Kush landrace. It’s also possible that OG Kush emerged from undocumented bag seed as a distinct phenotype of some other existing strain. The meaning of its name is also disputed — the “OG” has been alternately said to stand for: “original gangster,” connoting its status as an old-school building block strain; “ocean grown,” in reference to its origin along the California coast; and even “OverGrown.com,” a now-defunct website that served as a resource for countless cannabis growers.  One thing that’s not up for debate is OG Kush’s potency — its THC composition has been consistently measured at between 20% and 25%.
